Only 3 Days Until Spain: Our Adventure Is About to Begin

In just three days, we’ll be boarding a plane, and honestly, I still can’t believe we’re this close. Our dream of moving to Spain has gone from something we talked about around the dinner table to something that’s about to become our everyday reality.

For months, our lives have revolved around paperwork, packing, researching neighborhoods, selling belongings, and preparing for one of the biggest changes we’ve ever made. Now the countdown is almost over.

It feels exciting, surreal, and just a little overwhelming.

The Excitement Is Finally Taking Over

When we first started planning our move, Spain felt so far away. There were endless forms to complete, appointments to attend, documents to gather, and countless decisions to make.

Now we’re only days away from actually stepping onto Spanish soil.

After spending so much time preparing for moving to Spain, it’s amazing to finally say that this isn’t just a dream anymore. It’s happening.

Every challenge we’ve faced has made this moment even more meaningful, and I know we’ll appreciate this opportunity even more because of everything it took to get here.

Bane Is Still My Biggest Concern

As excited as I am, I have to admit that one thing continues to stay on my mind.

Bane.

Everything has been approved, his travel arrangements are complete, and we’ve followed every requirement for moving to Spain with a dog. Still, I find myself worrying about all the things I can’t control.

What if there’s a heat embargo?

What if something unexpected happens at the last minute?

Those thoughts creep into my mind because Bane isn’t just our dog—he’s part of our family. We can’t imagine starting this new chapter without him, and I’ll feel so much better once he’s safely with us.

I know many pet owners understand exactly how that feels.

The Work Doesn’t End When We Land

Some people think the hard part ends once the plane takes off.

In reality, moving to Spain is only entering its next phase.

I’ve already started reaching out to apartments so we can begin scheduling viewings as soon as we arrive. Our first couple of days are going to be packed from morning until night.

We’ll be traveling internationally, picking up our rental car, checking into our temporary accommodations, adjusting to the time difference, and immediately beginning our apartment search.

It’s going to be busy.

It’s probably going to be exhausting.

But every appointment gets us one step closer to finding the place we’ll call home.

Looking Forward to Finding Our Home

One of the things I’m most excited about is exploring different neighborhoods.

Photos online only tell part of the story. Walking the streets, visiting local shops, seeing parks, and experiencing each area in person will help us decide where we truly belong.

That’s one of the most exciting parts of moving to Spain.

We’re not just looking for an apartment.

We’re looking for a place where we’ll build memories, celebrate holidays, welcome friends and family, and create a completely new life.

That thought makes every stressful moment worthwhile.

This Dream Is Becoming Reality

There were times during this process when Spain still felt far away.

The paperwork seemed endless.

The waiting was difficult.

The uncertainty was frustrating.

But somehow those months have flown by, and now we’re only three days away.

It’s incredible how quickly a dream can become real once all the pieces start coming together.

Our journey of moving to Spain has taught us patience, flexibility, and the importance of staying focused on the bigger picture.

Even when obstacles appeared, we kept moving forward.

Now we’re finally seeing the reward.

Here’s to the Next Chapter

In just a few days, our lives will look completely different.

We’ll no longer be talking about moving to Spain.

We’ll actually be living in Spain.

There will undoubtedly be surprises, challenges, and plenty of lessons to learn along the way. But there will also be new friendships, amazing experiences, beautiful places to discover, and opportunities we never would have found if we hadn’t taken this leap.

For now, we’re focused on making it through these final few days.

Here’s hoping for smooth flights, safe travels for Bane, successful apartment viewings, and a wonderful beginning to this incredible adventure.

We’re almost there.

Spain, we’ll see you very soon.
